The
Scriabine Foundation was founded in 2005, by Raisa Scriabine, grand niece
of the Russian composer Alexander Nikolaevich Scriabin (1872-1915).
The Foundation promotes programs to: support the A.N. Scriabin
Museum in Moscow, Russia, including the development of a scholarship fund
for young Russian musicians; create opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized
groups in Russia including children and young people with HIV/AIDS and
other health conditions; enhance the protection of the environment and
to support environmental health in Russia.
The primary work of the Scriabine Foundation
focuses on Russia, though the Foundation may seek to work in other geographic
areas including Eastern Europe and areas of Eurasia other than Russia.
The Foundation is a private operating foundation exempt under section
501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Scriabine Foundation works
in close cooperation with the Russian Childrens Welfare Society (www.rcws.org)
and the Scriabin Society of America (www.scriabinsociety.com). |
